Two ex-Amazon delivery drivers, a shared obsession with cars, and a list of complaints about every cloth on the market long enough that we just built our own.
We were driving for Amazon, doing ten-hour shifts back to back. Neither of us talked about it much, but every route turned into the same conversation: what car we'd own one day, and why nothing on the shelf was good enough to look after it properly.
no plan yet, just talkNo big leap, just weeks of doing the shifts by day and figuring out how to actually build the thing by night. We weren't chasing anything flashy, just trying to turn the conversation from those routes into something real.
"two blokes in hi vis, staying up late for something neither of us could explain properly yet"
The cars finally showed up, and so did the disappointment. Every cloth we tried either scratched the paint, needed a dozen passes to actually dry anything, or fell apart after a few washes. We were the customers complaining about the product. Usually a bad sign for an industry, and a decent enough sign you should just build your own.

A few frantic weeks, more failed batches than we'll admit to, and 300+ wash tests later, wype® existed. Nothing revolutionary. Just a cloth built by two people who actually cared whether it left a mark on the bonnet.
